They have indoor growing areas so they can grow plants from all around the world, such as small critically endangered cactus, massive titan arum, giant bamboo and giant water lilies in the tropical houses.

Nearby play areas are picnic areas, snack shacks, and Island Restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks. Go further and you will see a tranquil woodland of their Clennon Gorge Nature Trail. The trail starts near Lemur Wood and is a perfect chance to spot some incredible native wildlife. It may take up to 10 minutes to go through this route.


Education Visits


Paignton Zoo always welcomes educational and school groups to visit their animals. Each group will be met at their coach turning circle as they come, and receive a short welcome and briefing with important instructions. They will provide you with a lunch/break-out room for one educational pubble per day for free. This room includes a sink for handwashing, a separate toilet, and 5 tables of 6 seats.

Paignton Zoo offers free parking for 1110 cars on site and their overflow car park is only a little away. They also have designated disabled bays on the first level of the main car park so visitors can be dropped outside and picked up from the turning circle at the main zoo entrance.
